Friends and family,
A quick update:
Since our last update, it was determined that dad still has pneumonia. This caused some additional abnormalities, including a fever and high heart rate with some atrial fibrillation and flutter. He was placed on a different antibiotic and heart medication and his heart has been stable for a couple days. His kidney performance deteriorated slightly (likely a result of the heart problems), so he will be placed back on the renal therapy today. He is also back on the ventilator full time, one setting above the minimum where they will take him off again. The doctors still feel optimistic about his progress and only consider this a minor set back.
Dad did not go back to surgery yesterday because the donor sites on his back weren’t healed enough. The back-up plan is to take him back next week, but this may be delayed because of the renal therapy. He has to be off renal therapy for a couple days before surgery.
There is some benefit to the delay. The additional time will give his legs more time to heal with negative pressure dressings. This means that some of the bumps and ridges caused because all the tissue was removed will fill in and create a smooth foundation for his skin grafts.

Colin, II and Ian,
Thank you for the update. It must be very hard on you guys and my prayers are with you both. Look how far your father has come all ready with the healing process. I’m sure it may feel like three steps forward then two steps back, but hang in there. With all the prayers coming your fathers way it will get better every day. You know that the whole family is in my prayers and thoughts continuously.
May God place his loving arms around Colin to comfort him and kiss his forehead so he may rest and fight of the fever.. May God place his hands over all of his grafts so they may heal and over his heart so it will stay in sinus rhythm. God place a breath of fresh air. into his lungs so the pneumonia will disappear . Bless all the hands of his caregivers. In God name we pray. Amen
Colin I am still here for you with healing thoughts and prayers. May God Bless the whole family and hold them close to his heart.
Love Janet
Prayers for healing of body, heart and soul for all of you <3 <3 Love, Paul & Sandee
