We invite you to leave a message for Colin. Until he can read these messages on his own, we will be very happy to read them to him.

Colin, II and Ian
Thank you again in everything you have shared with use. Like I have said, I didn’t know your dad long, but I hold what I have very close to me and wish I would have known him longer.
I still haven’t erase his voice messages from my phone. It’s still to final for me that he is gone and that is all I have left of him.
Janet
Colin, II and Ian,
I just watched the two video’s Timeline and For Good. Before I could write my feelings. I had to step away because I was crying so hard. I didn’t know your father to long, but the time I did know him he touch my heart. I loved him and was proud to call him my friend. The only regret I have is that I wasn’t blessed to have known him very long, but obvious he touch so many life’s.
I’m so sorry for your lose. Colin, Sr. was a great man and I will always hold him near to me and always be in my heart.
Colin, I love you.
Janet
Dear Colin II and Ian,
We were great friends with your father ever since we all met at a Wednesday night bike night in Prescott Valley back in like 2004? 2005? Anyhow, he was immediately supportive of us and our new club that we were in at the time. We saw each other at MMA meetings for a few years, till we had to drop a few years ago, and we never spoke on the phone hardly ever, but we saw each other on all the local rides we seemed to always end up seeing each other at.
The fondest memory we have of your father was when we had worked for a year to put together our 1st run, a run for the animals at the Yavapai Humane Society, and when the ride came, in October of 2008, he had just had a pretty major surgery on his foot or knee or hip or something like that. He said he “felt bad for not being able to ride with us ” that day, so he dragged himself outta bed, against dr.s orders I’m SURE knowing HIM! lol, but anyways, he drove in his car to the sign in that morning, hobbled in the door on crutches and in OBVIOUS pain, and he apologized for not being able to ride, but he still wanted to come show his support, and paid for 2 entries on the run, and then I helped him back to the car, and helped him get in, and thanked him so much for such a deeply heartfelt gesture, again, Colin always putting others first before his own needs…
We were devastated, truly, by his accident and the nature of his injuries, and couldn’t make it to Phx. to see him one last time unfortunately….so we have had a bit of time to compose ourselves, but I am STILL so very very saddened by the loss of my friend, and I know I will be bawling during this service….I miss you brother! I love you, LaLa and I will always love you and carry you with us in our hearts…..

Colin, II and Ian,
Thank you for sharing the photo’s on Colin’s last ride home. He will always have a place in my heart. He has truly touch my heart in a way I can never forget what a fantastic person he was and how much he meant to me.
May God comfort him in his arms.
Sincerely
Janet

Colin,
U are My Best Friend and always will be. I miss your smile, laughter along with our long talks on the phone. When I had a bad day you gave me your undivided attention. Can’t wait to talk to you again.
God watch over the MacDiarmid family. They have been through tough times together. I pray for their strength and peace of mind knowing you are their for them. May you watch over Colin, Sr. and give him strength and a strong heart beating in sinus rhythm. May you place your healing hands over all Colin grafts so they will heal. God in you name I pray. Amen
Colin, I’m hear for you.

I have to relay a funny story from the past. When I lived in Mississippi, I raised ducks and geese and sold the ducklings and goslings at the local farm supply. One day Colin decided to call the house, which he did once a month or so, and when my son answered he said in his best southern accent, “Ya’ll got any ducks?” My son called me to the phone and when I answered, Colin was laughing so hard he could hardly talk. He said my son didn’t miss a beat and just said, “Hold on, I’ll get my mom”. We got quite a chuckle out it!
Colin, you were always the man when we needed a mediator and negotiator within our Org and a leader par excellance. Take it one positive healing thought at a time and all of a sudden Walla(Walla) it will be time for a hug. Bless you , God will take care of you. Our prayers will join all the others for your recovery.

Colin,
You are in my thoughts and prayers DAILY. As you know I work at Rummel Eye Care in P.V.. Each time I pass that spot in the road I say your name out loud and then a silent prayer for you. Words cannot express how sorry I am that this has happened. I participated in the benefit run for you. Before saddling up I covered myself with sunscreen. Somehow I missed a spot in the pit of my left elbow. I sustained a severe sunburn which has blistered twice. I accept it as God’s way of helping me remember you on a daily basis. Everyone is asking about you. People you don’t even know. The little “Rag-Tag” Biker Church I attend in P.V. prays for you regularly. You are missed. You are Loved. I pray that God’s Will will be done with you….whatever that may be and that you will find peace in it.
God Bless you, my brother.
Peace,
Glenn
Colin,
Been thinking about you a lot this afternoon. Wishing you all the best that the doctors can do and hoping you are behaving for them. I know what a cut-up you can be when you want to be. Cannot wait for you to get up and running. One day at a time. We love you back here in Virginia and don’t you forget it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Ron and Nancy
It’s been a while since the last update so I will assume all is well and Colin isn’t having any difficulty with coming off the Ventilator. I hope the pneumonia has cleared up and all his skin grafts are healing as expected.. An he isn’t doing any funny little beats on the heart monitor.
Colin Sr. is constantly in my prayers and on my mind. I pray to God for his speedy recovery. May God place his gentle arms around Colin to comfort him and kiss his forehead so he can rest knowing how much we all care. May he place his hands over all his grafts so they may heal and over his heart so it will stay in sinus rhythm. May God place fresh air in Colins lungs so the pneumonia will subside. In Gods name we pray. Amen
Colin, Im still here for you, Just say the word and I will be there.
Love Janet
Hope you are all having a great day. Just wanted to say we were thinking of you!

Colin and family,
The Medieval Maidens MC would like you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers for your continuous recovery and strength for your family. We were heart broken to know this happened to you and wish you all the luck in the world to continue your journey back to health. If we can be of ANY service please let us know. Having to recently find out (last month) that my 28 year old son, Jason, had a brain tumor the size of an orange in his right frontal lobe put our family to the test with regard to faith, hope, love and strength in the family bond to help each other through. We had a pack that only ONE of us could have a breakdown on any given day. Laughter and great memories are getting us through our days. After a 20 hour surgery at UC Davis Medical Center 2 1/2 weeks ago they got 95% of the tumor. Jason is recovering with some set backs, but he is alive, talking, walking, and in good spirits. Our family is blessed. As is yours. Lots of love, support and good thoughts are being sent your way. With Much Love and Respect Kat President MMMC.
Happy Birthday Colin, praying for you and your family daily.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET COLIN. MY PRAYERS ARE FOR YOU DAILY. MAY GOD COMFORT YOUR PAIN, STRENGTHEN YOUR BODY, AND BRING YOU TO A FULL AND COMPLETE RECOVERY. LOVE YA, BARBARA IN CALIF

Happy Birthday my love. Can’t wait to see you and hold your hand. I hope that your sons are holding up as well. They are also in my prayers for God to give them strength.
Happy Birthday, Love you.

YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS EVERYDAY COLIN, LOVE YOU AND MISS TALKING TO YOU, SUZ
we are praying for you every day brother and hope you are back on two wheels soon, love ya.
Prayers are a continuous daily part of my day these days for you and your family. I pray for a speedy recovery and healing for Colin. I haven’t known him for very long but Colin has had a great impact on my life.
God bless you and your family,
Linda
Colin,
Several years back you were my EMT refresher instructor. You are by far the most engaging instructor, because you stay present, and ask your students to critically think through hypothetical emergency cases. You are a detailed critical thinker, and a wonderful story teller.I feel you will ride this one out ,and grace us with another, more engaging EMT refresher course.Just know there are a lot of people praying that you have a shortened recovery time.
You taught me to first visualize the plan of action, and then stay focused and engaged on the completed result. So here’s to imagining total healing;and believe with all your heart that you shall over come this, see you at the next course.Strength to you,and yours.
Ride on into happy dreams,
Rob Vannett EMT
Hi, Colin, I missed you on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to when you can come back. We’re thinking about you.
I was wondering how things were. I reached out to alot of my friends and family to keep you all in their prayers, the power of prayer is amazing! Your Dad’s accident affected me so much because way back in school you two just seemed like the nicest guys you could ever meet and I have rode bikes briefly in the past and now have numerous friends that enjoy them. I am going to repost your update so my friends can be informed and we will continue with the prayers and positive thoughts. With Fondness, Missy Jewell
Our hearts go out to you, MacDiarmid family. My most recent contact with Colin was by email one week before this accident 🙁 Please give him our love and tell him we are praying for his physical comfort and emotional strength during this time of crisis and long road to recovery.
Please tell your Dad that ‘Wife #2’ says “REST for now, dear heart. REST!!”
All our love and prayers, Paul & Sandee from Michigan
Dear Colin, Ian and later Colin II,
Your dad and I started rescue about the same time in Purcellville. Although time and life have separated our paths, he has and still influences my life and the way I look at the world. Sadly the last time I saw him was after the Clarks Gap accident, He was just getting used to the kane. His attitude was his usual chipper (there’s a word he will have fun with) and outgoing self. He was still in pain but would not let anyone know it. He was regaling the station with jokes and stories of the crash. His attitude was fantastic and carried him though those times.
Your grandfather once told me of you father “He’s a good son, but sometimes you gotta kick him in the butt.” I’m sure that your dad’s attitude has not changed much and will serve him well in these times, but at some point you may see a glimmer of doubt from him, this is when he will need that kick. I would love (as many would) to be there for that and to provide the service, but you two will likely be the only ones to see this side of him. So know that I, and old friend of your dad’s and I believe I can speak for your grandfather as well, Kick his butt when and as needed.
You all will remain in my thoughts and prayers,
Mark Hamilton
Colin, our friend, we are praying for your fast recovery. We know that this is a life changing event, so after you are out of the hospital, please know that you can call us for anything. Dishes need washed, I’ll send Lon over. Clothes need washed, I’ll do it. (inhouse joke, Colin and I have often joked that Lon is great with bikes but doesn’t know how to operate washing machines) Seriously though, Colin, anything we can do to help will happen.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Colin. May God bless and guide the medical staff while on the long road to recovery.
I want to hear you are on a bike once again!
Jack
Colin you are in our thoughts and prayers. Just do whatever the doc’s say.. We’ll look forward to seeing you up and around again soon.

Dear Colin and family,

I am saddend and sorry to hear about yet another accident. My family and I are praying for a swift and complete recovery. Well, I guess this is one way to get out of that road trip to California to have that cup of coffee with me. All my love and prays for you sweetie.
Hi Colin, want you to know you and your family are in my prayers and happy to hear Precious is being well taken care of. Appreciate your son putting this all together, can stay connected to you while you recover. God Bless, Faye
Colin,
I want to wish you all the best in your recovery. I enjoyed working with you during my time with the state MMA. It is a better organization due to your efforts.
I will check on your condition from time to time and wish you the best. I will come to see you when that is permitted.
Get well soon,
Randy Crider
Colin requested that for his birthday, May 9, that he could get his Facebook friends to donate to “something like Bike Safety” or Safety for Motorcycle Riders” and I told him I would donate and I sent him an email asking “How do I do this?” but he had his accident and was not able to get back to me. I want to do this in his name and don’t know how. Colin and I ran with the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad in Leesburg, VA and I do hope and pray he heals and is able to ride again. My email address is: 1257nich@shentel.net if you can let me know how to donate to his cause. Thanks, Nancy Nicholas
Hi Colin and sons, I just wanted to let you know that we here at the Courier are praying for your recovery and sending good thoughts your way. I’ll write up a short update from the news your sons, friends and neighbors passed along to let people know how you are doing, where they can follow your progress and how to donate toward your medical care. Just know, people all over are calling up asking how you are and following your progress. Let me know when you all schedule the ride and we’ll get that in the paper too. It was great talking about the ride you set up last year.
Take care,
Lisa Irish
